Ladies Night Out Dinner
Tentative date is Thursday September 29, 2011 at the new Hard Shell at Bellgrade. It is not open yet, so I will confirm date when it opens.  Please RSVP to karenmonks@verizon.net if you would like to join the fun!

Octoberfest @ Capital Ale House - It's a go!
We won't be reserving a table at Octoberfest this Saturday, but BHA neighbors are going to be there raising their steins anyway!  If you want to stop by and Prost! with use, please do!

Date: October 1st - Saturday
Time: getting there between 5:30 & 6:00 pm - getting there early to hopefully avoid long lines for the evening party
Location: Capital Ale House Downtown Richmond Location - 623 East Main Street (6th and Main St.) Richmond, VA 23219  Phone 804-780-ALES

What: One giant celebration! It will take place on one day in the street & Music Hall. The street party will be greatly expanded from last year to make more room for the party. The Entertainment will be provided by the SGTEV Hirschjager German dancers and German music by The Continentals, the Ja Ja Ja’s and The Edelweiss Band. The Downtown Richmond event begins at noon and end at 10:00pm with the restaurant operating until 1:30am.

Cost: There is NO cover charge and each guest of legal drinking age can purchase a traditional 1-liter Capital Ale House stein for $2.00. Families are welcome however anyone under the age of 21 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.  Fill your stein with your choice any Paulaner or Hacker Pschorr  beers on draft!

Food: Menu items will include: Giant pretzels with sweet mustard, bratwurst, knockwurst, sauerbraten and dumplings with ginger snap gravy, Jaegerschnitzel, Roast Chicken, German potato salad, red cabbage and sauerkraut as well as our regular menu offerings in the restaurant. 

October - You've been BOOed!
This will begin in October and is to include all neighborhood families even those without young children!  We have many new neighbors and what a fun way to be welcomed into the neighborhood!  Remember a Halloween is for all ages and candy is not the only thing that can be given as Boo Gifts!! You've been BOOed! instructions will accompany each Halloween goodie basket or treat!
Karen Monks will begin the exchange.  Please deliver you reciprocal gift to two neighbors (again don't forget neighbors without young kids) within two days!

Children's Halloween Party hosted by the Stankiewicz family
Friday, October 28, 2011 from 6pm to 9pm. This is an outdoor event
Kids come in your Halloween Costume!
Halloween themed games and activities!
Families please contribute snacks, appetizers or desserts to share. Kids drinks to be provided; adult beverages are BYOB.

Adult Night Out at the Funny Bone Comedy Club
I have opted to delay a night out at the Funny Bone until November because of the busy school/sports/activity schedules in September and October.  The Funny Bone November calendar is not available yet.  I will have that in my next newsletter.

Additionally, other Late Fall/Early Winter Events will be in our November newsletter. Look forward to a few new ones. If you have events you'd like advertized, please let me know.
